Are covermyfurniture covers like slipcovers?

No. All covers from covermyfurniture.com are made to fit your exact style of sofa or chair. Slipcovers which are very popular in America, tend to be quite baggy fitting and are of a standard shape designed to fit many different styles of furniture. That means there is often a lot of loose fabric in the cover that you will have to tuck away under your cushions and down the back of the sofa! We make our sofa, chair and cushion covers to exactly fit your furniture.

Are the covers made from stretchy fabric?

Two of the designs available are made from fabric that has a stretchy quality built into it, rather like a figure hugging t-shirt. The advantage to this kind of fabric is that it clings to the shape of your furniture. Because of its elastic quality it enables it to stretch then recover to cling to your furniture. Its also super practical as it is machine washable, colourfast, very durable and non-iron. The remaining fabrics are made from non-stretch rigid fabrics, primarily 100% cotton or cotton rich materials. The appeal for this kind of fabric is the lovely natural, cotton feel to the material.

How do I care for my covers?

All covers available are machine washable. One of the best benefits of covers is that they are easily removable from your furniture and can be put into the washing machine – useful for sorting out spills and stains on the sofa! Many of the fabrics are also non-iron. Specific instructions for each cover can be found on the care label sewn into the cover.

Can you tumble dry?

You should not tumble dry your covers.

2. All materials are tested to ensure they do not shrink and are light fast. They are also tested against the Martindale abrasion test – this is an industry recognised rub test to ensure the wearability of fabrics.
